N.E.T.

Neuro Emotional Technique (N.E.T.) is a gentle technique that helps to relieve stress by releasing emotional patterns.  While emotions are an essential part of life, at times an emotional experience may become conditioned and “stuck” in the body.  Like a Pavlovian response, events and situations in life may become associated with particular emotions and sensory perception.  Later that feeling can be evoked by an image, sound, scent or other trigger and may consciously or unconsciously cause distress.  Once the emotional pattern is discovered, N.E.T. serves to release it from the central nervous system.  Neuro Emotional Technique may be useful in treating a variety of conditions including anxiety, insomnia, and depression, as well as physical pain and a general feeling of being “off” or “just not oneself”.

I was first exposed to N.E.T. as a second year student of naturopathic medicine with such incredible results after a single session that I took the training myself that summer.  After graduation I sought out an ND who utilizes N.E.T. to guide my own health care and, once again amazed at the power of Neuro Emotional Technique I refreshed my training in order to offer it to my own patients.  Depending on what kind of curve balls life is throwing I continue to go for N.E.T. as needed – from every 2 weeks when life is crazy, to every few months when I feel more in balance.
